How do I celebrate and/or participate in Carlisle Night of Lights?
How do I celebrate and/or participate in Carlisle Night of Lights?
- Create a paper bag luminary for the center of town. (Optional) The Cheer Project will be collecting your decorated paper bags (instructions below) from Gleason Library through December 18th at 5:00 pm, then we will add a battery-operated tea light inside to show off your design and place them all around the town center. The goal is to place at least 200 of these luminaries to light up the night! So make as many as you'd like! (Be sure to write your name on the bottom of your luminaries if you would like to retrieve it on Sunday, December 20, before noon!)
- Decorate your home/business with lights – however it pleases you! (Optional) This is a 'solstice' event (the symbolic rebirth of the Sun since the solstice marks the day with the least daylight in our hemisphere) so your display should be filled with lights. It can be any theme you want; winter, freedom, birthday, etc... Then add your address to our Sign-Up Genius signupgenius.com/go/508094dabac28a20-luminaries by December 15 so we can include your home/business in our self-guided drive-by light tour on December 19th from 5pm on!
- Enjoy the lights! (Required!) Drive around the town center on Dec. 19th and through all the participating streets and enjoy the sights! If you prefer to skip the luminary-making and house-decorating, you are still most welcome to go on the driving tour through the town center and around town! Find a full list of all the participating addresses on this website the day before the tour.
- Please follow all the COVID-19 safety precautions; hand sanitizer, safe distancing and face coverings in addition to all instructions posted and requested at the event.
